White's tree frog, brown in color

White's tree frog lives in the rainforests of Northeast Australia, New Guinea, Indonesia and the Torres Straits, although some suggest that evidence of the frog has been found in South America. While White's tree frog is typically found in humid environments, they manage to survive dry periods by secreting a waxy covering over their skin to prevent water loss/ Scientists have found that skin secretions from this species can destroy the staph bacterium that is responsible for cold sore abscesses involved in Herpes Simplex infections. These secretions have also been used to treat people who have high blood pressure.
