Golden-headed lion tamarin (Leontopithecus chrysomelas) Golden-headed lion tamarins are found in the tropical deciduous forest of Bahia in eastern Brazil. The majority of these animals reside in the 7,000 hectare Una Biological Reserve. Golden-headed lion tamarins are highly threatened by habitat loss but can survive in degraded secondary forests locally known as the cabruca. |
