Emperor tamarin (Saguinus imperator)

 Emperor tamarin (Saguinus imperator)

Emperor tamarin (Saguinus imperator)

The Emperor tamarin is a monkey found in the tropical forests of Brazil (States of Acre and Amazonas), Peru, and Bolivia. It is characterized by long moustache for which it is named. When emperor tamarins were first discovered at the begining of the 20th century, their long moustaches resembled the moustache of Emperor Wilhelm II, a German Emperor from the 19th century.

Emperor tamarins feed on fruits, insects, flowers, and nectar.
