Matschie's Tree Kangaroo (Dendrolagus matschiei)

Matschie's Tree Kangaroo is found at an altitude of 3000-5000 ft (900-1500 m) above sea level in the mountainous tropical deciduous and tropical rainforests of New Guinea, specifically on the Huon Peninsula and the nearby island of Umboi. They feed mostly on leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds, and bark, but will occasionally eat insects and yound birds.
