Green-and-black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus)
Green-and-black poison dart frog (Dendrobates auratus)
The green and black poison dart frog is a frog found in Central and South America, although in 1932 the frog was introduced to Hawaii in an effort to control mosquitos. Males care for the eggs and transport tadpoles to water on their backs after they hatch. Like other poison dart frogs, the green and black poison dart frog uses toxic skin secretions to protect itself from predators.
